When she was younger, Sophie “S. J.” Robert entertained herself by creating stapled paper “books” and filling them with her enormous imagination. And while she struggled through deep loss in high school, Sophie found joy through writing and reading fiction.​ Now she writes books for young adults who’ve experienced grief, offering stories that allow them to escape for a moment, and come back from the pages with the strength to keep going. When not writing novels, you can find her sending humorous emails, swaddling her cat into a burrito blanket, or wrangling her favorite books into the three-act story structure. ​​
